Today I write thinking activity on Education and technology. This activity given by Dr Dilip Barad sir. 

Education and Technology

Technology education is the study of technology, in which students "learn about the processes and knowledge related to technology". As a field of study, it covers the human's ability to shape and change the physical world to meet needs, by manipulating materials and tools with techniques.

Empowers educators to efficiently personalize learning with access to data, content and the cloud. ... Helps educators create blended learning environments that make learning relevant to students' lives.

Educational technology is a term used to describe a wide array of teaching-and-learning–related software and hardware that's increasingly being used in college and university classrooms. ... Educational technology refers to technology that usually helps facilitate collaboration in an active learning environment.

Examples Of New Technology In Education

1. The Cloud.
2. Video Streaming.
3. Augmented Reality.
4. Learning Simulations.
5. Virtual Reality.
6. Blockchain. Machine Learning. Polynote is a different kind of notebook. It supports mixing multiple languages in one notebook, and sharing data between them seamlessly.
7. FlipGrid.
8. Hybrid Learning.

Video :1 Sir Ken Robinson: Changing Paradigm

In this video he speaks about two main reasons behind reforming public education.

i) Economic 

ii) Culture

This is like based on Globalisation , cultural identity and reforming the world. All are doing what they did in past. Ken Robinson studied education system in an innovative way in his talk entitled as The Changing Paradigm.

Video: 2 Sugata Mitra: School in the cloud- SOLE

In this video Sugata Mitra talks on the paradigm shift based on education system. He used to teach people how to write computer programme. He faces some of the glimpse of the work and started this project 'Hole in the wall'. Student will reach the Same standard as an office secretary in west. Through he emphasizes his idea of SOLE - Self Organized Learning Environments. He made a hypothesis and a ridiculous hypothesis. Student start to learn BEYOND THE HOLE IN THE WALL 2006-2013. And plan to make future good.

Along with it he also talks on pronunciation and how through the speech to text engine software one can enhance pronunciation. Indeed how can we forget about examination threat? He also mentioned about it. He firmly believed that in order to instill the best in the student, collaborate work should be encouraged in classroom as well as exam must be  focused on problem solving dimension through internet rather than traditional memory checking oriented examination. In this entire process of new learning the question of "Why" becomes more important than the "what".

Video : 4 Salman Khan: Let's use video to reinvent education

In this video salman Khan said that the founder of Khan Academy speaks on self placed lectures at home by using video. Probably his idea goes against traditional method of teaching and learning. Interestingly all videos are prepared or designed in such way that one can enjoy to learn through video as well as it encourages flint learning. It enables students to learn at home and do homework at school or colleges. Isn't it a interesting idea? Equally as Sugata Mitra highlights development of critical thinking through technology, same way Salman Khan brought out this idea through his Khan Academy. 

Video : 5 Marc Prensky: Digital Natives and Immigrant

In this particular video he talks about digital tools widely used by younger generation of 20th century. He gave a certain figures regarding the amount of the time spent by students in using digital tools. Surrounded by technology and video games, today's grads have spent less than 5,000 hours of their lives reading but over 10,000 hours playing video games. It showcases growing interest towards technology. Because of the remarkable use of technology in education as well for other purposes, we become the native of technology while digital immigrants do not believe that students can learn by watching T.V or listening music. Indeed, they are preferably wrong because in this pop culture, along with designed educational course, each and every instrument of pop culture can be served as a new mode of education and it can not be denied.
