English Language Teaching: Activities for Language Teachers

 Hello Friends!


Here I discussed about some activities what we all are done in online classroom. There are four activities. It was all activities are very good I learnt a lot. And this was very interesting. This task given by Vaidehi Hariyani Ma'am. So thank you ma'am for teaching well.

First of all I write all four activities.


  1. Translating the sentences 
  2. Choosing an occupation 
  3. Introducing vocabulary 
  4. Preparing a lesson plan

This task very important to English Language Teaching. This is in below I write about in detail.

Activities : 1 Translating the sentences:


  1. अहमद सुबह सुबह अख़बार पढता है।
  2. આવ રે વરસાદ ઢેબરિયો પરસાદ, ઊની ઊની રોટલી ને કારેલાનું શાક.
  3.  માડી તારું કંકુ ખર્યું ને સૂરજ ઊગ્યો.
  4. माथे पे कुमकुम और हाथ में चूड़ा, लगता है भारत से हैं वो।

Translation
  1. Ahmad rean a newspaper in the morning.
  2. Oh!! The rains to pour and come serve the delicious bitter gourd vegitables. 
  3. Mother your vermillion came true and the sun rose.
  4. Vermillion on forehead and bangles in hand, seems to be from India. 

Activities:2 Choosing an occupation

I have choosen my occupation and then I wrote ten word releted on occupation. First of all I choose my occupation like I am a painter. That time my important thing and matireal what I needed. In below I write ten word releted that occupation.

  1. Pencils
  2. Eraser
  3. Acrylic paint
  4. Scale
  5. Paint brushes
  6. Canvas (wood, paper)
  7. Palette
  8. Rags or paper towels
  9. Soap for brushes
  10. Gloss varnish
  11. Watercolor

Activities: 3 Introducing New word

I will introduce the word for primary school students that time first of all I choosen word of water that time i give brief knowledge about water. Then I ask some questions through get some information.

  1. What is the need of water in whom?
  2. From where get water?
  3. What is the use of water?
  4. What makes water polluted?
  5. If there is no water that time what we do?
  6. Where we drink water?
  7. Why we drink a water?
  8. What happens if the animal does not get water?
  9. How much need a water of throughout the day?
  10. How much is needed?
  11. Where does water come from?

There are some basic questions I ask students and this method through I introduce that vocabulary. I also Shaw some pictures in digital platform and I taught that questions. If students are not known what is the answer that time I give what the answer.

Activities : 4 Preparing a lesson plan

Plan: I will introduce the listening skills to teach bachelor level students.

first of all I will presentation through charts ,laptop with speaker, Audio recording, handout, video clips, whiteboard. Then I prepare the charts on the whiteboard and white down the topic of my lesson.

Then can giving some information about the listening skills.

Listening as a skill may be extremely similar to reading, but the text the listener has to Dil vich is considerably different from the written on. Talisker can not look at what he is trying to hear. Various the written word space on the page and can be looked at more than once, the spoken word, unless recorded on tab or record cannot be repeated.

Then I teach some of object of listening skills:

  1. Be a good listener
  2. Control the conversation
  3. Interact with student
  4. Control native speakers
  5. Some practice listening

Here I gave some object of listening skills. First object when I teach to students that time I will taught some key points like,

  • Maintain a comfortable body position
  • It's quite and attentive
  • Show interest
  • Allow silence
  • Ask questions to check understanding
  • Summarise to all point
Then I introduce second objectives that time some interrupt to students and conversation speed is slow down that's why students are understand properly.

Then I introduced third objective theatre time I teach some key points given and better way to understand like,
  • Listen actively
  • Get the main message
  • Listen between the lines
  • Listen with feeling
  • Listen with your eyes
There are some key points through I gave some information about the skills. 

Then towards the end of the world session the teacher needs to evaluate the student about whatever he and she has taught to the students. For example, we might ask them what we have taught during the lecture. This can be done by asking them a few questions and listening to the answer that they give attentively.

There are all four activities what we done in online class. This is very interesting activities.
